In a short period of time, the Siem Together Foundation has turned its mission into tangible action for women across Mauritius.

Together with our supporters and partners, we have already:

Raised more than €153,000 for breast cancer prevention and early detection

Opened our first Breast Cancer Screening Center in Mauritius

Officially inaugurated the center in July 2026 in the presence of the President of the Republic of Mauritius, representatives of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family Welfare, and Breast Cancer Care Mauritius

Created access to free breast examinations for women who cannot afford private screening

Supported breast cancer education and awareness

Begun planning additional screening centers across Mauritius to reach even more women and communities

Our vision is to build a network of accessible Breast Cancer Screening Centers across Mauritius, bringing early detection closer to the women who need it most.
Too many women seek medical help only when breast cancer has already progressed to an advanced stage. We want to help change that.
Our aim is to intervene at the earliest possible stage – before breast cancer has the opportunity to progress.
By making examinations accessible, raising awareness and helping women understand the importance of regular screening, we want early detection to become the norm rather than the exception.
No woman should miss the opportunity for potentially life-saving screening because of financial circumstances, lack of information or limited access to care.

WHY ACCESS MATTERS
A comprehensive examination at a private clinic in Mauritius can cost up to €800, while many women earn approximately €400 per month.
Although Mauritius has free public healthcare, hospitals often face high patient volumes, long waiting times and limited resources.
Together with Breast Cancer Care Mauritius, we are helping to bridge this gap by providing breast examinations, education and access to early diagnosis – regardless of a woman’s financial situation.

BUILDING A NETWORK ACROSS MAURITIUS
Our first Breast Cancer Screening Center was an important milestone, but it was never intended to be the last.
Additional screening centers are already in planning.
Our long-term goal is to establish a network of centers in strategic locations across the island, making breast cancer screening easier to access and allowing us to reach thousands more women.
Each new center means more women can be examined earlier, more women can receive guidance and support, and more cancers have the opportunity to be detected before they become advanced.
